Minister of religious affairs and inter faith harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousaf has announced on Monday July 30, 2013 that there will be strict monitoring of facilities being provided to pilgrims and any negligence regarding this will not be spared. While addressing to media Sardar Muhammad Yousaf said that the hajj policy has been organized and introduced by the previous government and the current will ensure the implementation of this hajj policy and along with it the government will also try to provide the pilgrims with as many facilities as possible to ensure the comfort and health of the pilgrims.
Sardar Muhammad Yousaf has also given the directions to the officials of the ministry to facilitate the pilgrims through all possible ways. He said that negligence would not be tolerated and in case of any carelessness strict action would be taken against the responsible people. In reference to his recent visit to Saudi Arabia he said that the visit was successful and he has discussed with Saudi officials to provide more facilities to Pakistani pilgrims. The Saudi officials have agreed to provide more proper space to Pakistani pilgrim at the place of old Minna.
He further informed that the Makatib of Pakistani pilgrims will be closer to railway station for the travelling convenience of the pilgrims. The approval for arranging a medical camp for Pakistani pilgrims has also been granted. Government is trying to arrange cheaper hajj for pilgrims and Rs. 25, 000 to Rs. 35, 000 will be returned back to the pilgrims who are going through government arrangements. Sardar Muhammad Yousaf has admitted that the buildings hired for the pilgrims are at a bit distance from the Haram Sharif but he has promised to provide efficient transport system for the pilgrims.
There will be one washroom for four to six people. He has congratulated the Saudi nation on the Ramadan moon on the same day and said that he hoped that both the nations will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitar on the same day. It has also been reported that the ministry of religious affairs has signed a memorandum of understanding on Monday and the purpose of it is to launch an extensive hajj awareness campaign in August.
The memorandum was signed by Joint Secretary Ministry of Religious Affairs Shahzad Ahmad, Director PTV and Radio Pakistan will launch a series of programs next year in collaboration with MOU and Ministry off Religious Affairs. The purpose of these programs will be to create the awareness among the pilgrims regarding the rituals of hajj. These programs of hajj awareness will be telecasted on PTV Home and PTV News and Radio Pakistan will telecast these programs on Medium Waves and FM channels. Both television and radio will play a significant role in the awareness of the pilgrims.
